Sweet Carrot Hungarian Goulash

Hungarian Goulash

This is a traditional, hearty stew that is sweet and filling. It is quick and easy to prepare. Let it simmer for 2 hours so that the meat becomes tender. It will make your kitchen smell great!

Ingredients
  • 1 Tbsp. Olive Oil
  • 1 lb Stew Beef, cubed
  • 1 cup water
  • 6 medium carrots, peeled
  • 1 sweet onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. light brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. paprika
  • 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. mustard powder
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 16 oz egg noodles
Instructions
  1. Pour Olive Oil into large pot or dutch oven on medium heat then stew meat, brown both sides. Cut carrots into 1 inch sections. Add onions and carrots to pot.
  2. Once onions and carrots soften, add water, ketchup, brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce.
  3. Sprinkle paprika, cayenne pepper, mustard powder and garlic powder into stew. Mix.
  4. Simmer stew for 2 hours until tender.
  5. Boil water in separate pot for egg noodles. Cook egg noodles according to package.
  6. Serve stew over egg noodles.
